A consultant in medical/legal and science writing, Baltimore-based David Censits, MD, holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and mass communication from the University of Pennsylvania (Penn). At Penn, Dr. David Censits also completed a a master’s degree in applied positive psychology, as well as his residency training in psychiatry followed by a fellowship in sleep disorders at the Center for Sleep and Respiratory Neurobiology. He earned his MD from Thomas Jefferson University.
Dr. Censits served as a consulting physician at Locum Tenens.com/LT Medical LLC. Prior to that he was a solo practitioner for more than a decade as a neuropsychiatrist, psychotherapist, psychopharmacologist, and wellness consultant at Rittenhouse Neuropsychiatry in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
David Censits also served as an attending staff physician at the Sleep Disorders Center, Abington Memorial Hospital. For part of this time, he also worked at the VA Hospital Psychiatry Emergency Department in Philadelphia and at the Hall-Mercer Crisis Response Center, Pennsylvania Hospital.
He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and member of medical organizations including the American Medical Association, American Neuropsychiatry Association, and Maryland Medical Society. Licensed to practice in Pennsylvania, he recently relocated to Maryland and is awaiting his medical license to practice in the state.
